Best gourmet and Michelin-starred restaurants in Blois
1. Amour Blanc restaurant at the Fleur de Loire Hotel

You'll come to this restaurant first and foremost for the reputation of Christophe Hay, the committed, locavore, double Michelin-starred chef, but also for the restaurant's setting, offering a superb panorama of the city of Blois. We were lucky enough to watch a magnificent sunset during our meal!

Once comfortably seated, the delicate, tasty amuse-bouches will immediately whet your appetite, before giving way to the sublime creations on the menu. For our part, we opted for the 5-course menu, which impressed us with its harmonious score of flavors and textures.

2. Restaurant Ezia (1 star)

Ideally located between Blois and Chambord, Restaurant Ezia intrigued us with its original, subtle menu, designed by Nicolas Aubry, former executive chef at Christophe Hay. In a modern dining room overlooking the kitchen, the soothing, uncluttered decor gives way to a masterly menu of land and sea.
The evening we came, we opted for a 7-step tasting that impressed us with its balance, inventiveness and refinement.

While the meal was excellent from start to finish, we fell in love with the colorful 1st course, a subtle combination of French shrimp (grown on an aquaculture farm in Loire-Atlantique) and grilled corn. The dessert, with its basil-mint mousse, tarragon sorbet and vanilla sauce, was just as surprising and delightful.

If the creative flavors of Restaurant Amour Blanc have won us over, we can't wait to discover the prowess of the same chef in his other 2-star institution. Set on the second floor of a former 17th-century hospice, the cuisine at this gourmet restaurant is a veritable ode to the Loire. The chef's signature dishes include local products such as Carpe à la Chambord, osciètre caviar from Sologne and sublimated vegetables from his permaculture garden. Where taste meets ethics!

4. Restaurant La Botte d'Asperges (Bib Gourmand)

Located 30 minutes from Blois by car, Restaurant La Botte d'Asperges awaits you for a culinary experience worthy of the finest restaurants. We appreciated Chef Stéphane Bureau's creativity and sense of sharing. He's been a welcome guest at our table, and has recently started offering culinary workshops to volunteer gourmets.

On the day we came, we were delighted with the various sequences on the menu, which were inventive and well-crafted.
And then, as you're beginning to know us in the team, it's cheese AND desserts!
The cart of cheeses matured by Rodolphe Le Meunier (MOF) was the perfect accompaniment to the selection of local wines, and the mignardises were the final touch to convince us of the chef's generosity.

Best bistronomic restaurants in Blois
4. Restaurant Au Rendez-Vous des Pêcheurs

This excellent fish restaurant has been a staple in Blois for many years. Chef Christophe Cosme sublimates local peaches by marrying them with the Loire Valley's other stars, vegetables. During our visit, we feasted on citrus-flavored cod and the chef's mythical homemade mille-feuille with island vanilla.

We also really enjoyed the bread rolls and their flavoured salts, to which we succumbed a little too greedily to show you the photo!
In addition to the refined, generous dishes, we loved the warm atmosphere of this former fisherman's grocery store, with its meticulous decor and elegant lighting.

5. Restaurant Le Petit Honfleur

In this charming timber-framed restaurant, we sampled tasty and creative market cuisine, where local produce (vegetables and cheeses) are the order of the day, just like our palet!
The semi-open space between the kitchen and the dining room gives you the feeling of being close to the hustle and bustle of the kitchens. Although some exchanges between teams can be heard, this adds a lively touch to the experience.
And if you become a regular, you'll be delighted to know that the menu changes regularly. Note also that the wine selection is local and top-notch!

In the dining room, you'll be seduced by the tasteful decor and intimate atmosphere.
We also thought the terrace would be very pleasant in fine weather, with its view of the Saint Vincent-de-Paul church!

A wide range of beverages (teas, coffees, smoothies) is available for tasting, including a mind-boggling array of flavored hot chocolates (nougat, pistachio, gingerbread, etc.). 9. SIM'S L'atelier sucré salé (bakery)

This is a good alternative if you don't want to waste too much time on your visits, but don't want to give up your sweet tooth.
This bakery's tempting and varied window display awakened our taste buds!
On the sweet side, you can choose from a wide range of pastries and viennoiseries, and on the savoury side, there's plenty to fill you up for lunch (sandwiches, quiches, salads, cheese puffs). A fine selection for you to take away or enjoy on the spot, at tables in the shade.
