Is Hôtel Le Moulin de Francueil worth it? Our review
If you're looking for peaceful, refined accommodation close to Amboise, Hôtel Le Moulin de Francueil is an ideal option. Enjoy the lively town of Amboise (20 minutes away), the nearby Château de Chenonceau (6 minutes) and the other Châteaux of the Loire Valley! We particularly appreciated the old-fashioned charm of the premises and the warm welcome from the staff.

Decoration and atmosphere
We appreciated the hotel's hushed charm. The warm decor is inspired by the codes of historic residences: refined, abundant motifs, antique furniture, noble materials...
You almost feel like you're living the Château life!
Yet the atmosphere remains intimate, and the discreet, attentive service contributes to this feeling of tranquillity.

There's also plenty of green space in the accommodation. You'll appreciate the green setting, with its streams, groves and small bridges, offering a bucolic break. The wrought-iron gazebo adds a welcome touch of romance!

The room
Designed like a jewel box, our room was both comfortable and spacious, with understated yet refined decor. We love the old-fashioned total look with pink toile de Jouy wallpaper covering the walls and curtains! A few refined touches (romantic paintings, mirrors and colorful carpets) complete the romanticism of this room called La Vallière. We love the royal names given to the rooms!

The bathroom
In our room, the bathroom included a bathtub, where we could relax after a long day of sightseeing. We liked the harmonious hues of white ceramic, parquet flooring and powder pink walls.

The breakfast
Don't miss our seasonal breakfast served under a sunny glass roof. It's served by the plate, with a fresh rose from the garden for company. We enjoyed the freshly made sweets (such as orange juice, fresh fruit salad and eggs) and the daily pastries.
A great start to your day exploring the Châteaux of the Loire!

Equipment and common areas
There's nothing like a moment of relaxation after a busy day of sightseeing! You can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool in season, or relax in the various corners of the garden at the end of the day.

You can also take advantage of the guest house's warm communal areas to play a game of chess or practice your scales on the piano. And don't hesitate to ask your hosts for advice, as they'll be delighted to recommend some of the region's best addresses.

History
A former 17th-century water mill, fully restored in 2020, the Moulin de Francueil now welcomes you to a refined setting in the heart of the Cher valley. Once inhabited by Madame Dupin, great-grandmother of the famous writer George Sand, this historic site is brimming with architectural details. Spiral staircase, majestic tower, blonde stone and slate roofs, not to mention neo-Renaissance touches!
