Is the Empreinte Hotel worth it? Our review
Yes, without hesitation. Hôtel Empreinte is the ideal place to stay in Orléans. We particularly appreciated its strategic downtown location on the quays of the Loire. The cosy setting and refined decor of this boutique hotel create a welcoming, elegant atmosphere. We also found the hotel's program of events, such as cheese tastings and yoga classes, to be original, adding a convivial dimension to the stay.

We stayed in the Atmosphere room, and the name is particularly well chosen! The space is very cozy, with a careful decor that favors powdery pink tones. The headboard, bedspread and armchair all feature this soft color palette, creating a soothing ambience.

The bathroom
Clad entirely in white, the bathroom offers a bright, uncluttered space, in harmonious contrast to the warmer tones of the bedroom. This simplicity helps to create a soothing atmosphere, and we appreciated the softly scented bath products.
The breakfast
The breakfast room is a real asset of the Hôtel Empreinte. We were seduced by the elegant and welcoming setting of this space. Pretty paper lamps cast a soft, warm glow, while leather armchairs and colorful cushions create a convivial atmosphere. The meticulous decor makes breakfast a particularly pleasant experience.
The buffet is of the highest quality and very generous. We fell in love with the ultra-varied selection of sweet products: fluffy crêpes, golden madeleines and tasty cakes make up a gourmet offering that's hard to match. This diversity means there's something for everyone to get their day off to a good start.

Equipment and common areas
Hôtel Empreinte's 70m² spa is one of the hotel's major assets. This wellness area includes a sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Guests can enjoy a 45-minute privatization of the spa, the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing!
The restoration
Hôtel Empreinte features a champagne bar and a wide selection of cocktails and mocktails. We appreciated the opportunity to accompany our aperitif with some appetizers.
History
This 4-star boutique hotel is housed in an elegant, fully renovated 19th-century residence. This phase of work was accompanied by an archaeological excavation campaign carried out by the city of Orléans, revealing the fascinating history of the building:
- In the Middle Ages: in the 9th century, the Châtelet fortress was the seat of royal and then ducal administration. Built within the city walls, the castle occupied a strategic position and controlled access to the bridge.
- In the 19th century: the Châtelet was sold to Benoist Lebrun, who agreed to demolish it to create a passageway along the quay. The château's architecture evolved, as did its function, to take on the appearance we know today.
- 20th century: For a time, it housed the Bourse du Travail, before being transformed into a boutique hotel.

How to get there
Several options are available to you:
- By car, from the A10 and A71 motorways, take the Orléans-Centre exit. At the traffic circle, take Avenue Georges Pompidou. Keep left on route d'Orléans. Turn right on avenue Georges Clémenceau. The hotel is on your left.
- By public transport: take streetcar A to the Royale-Châtelet stop, or buses L and O to the Quai du Châtelet stop. Orléans Centre-Ville SNCF train station is 1km from the hotel.
