It's well known to locals, but much less so to visitors to the region.<br\/>It is unique in that it is situated on a small island between 2 arms of the Loire. So don't miss the entrance from the bridges!<br\/>We love strolling along its main street, with its pretty houses along the water.<br\/>And don't miss the village church. Oudon (50 min)<\/h2>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Villages\/Oudon\/i-ZqQKH8k\/1\/2f8dc4c9\/L\/Oudon_vallee_Havre-09-L.jpg\" alt=\"Chateau d'Oudou\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why do we love it?<\/h3>\n\n<p>The houses here have a little less charm, but we liked the combination of 3 elements;<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the medieval castle and its keep overlooking the town,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Havre valley with its charming riversides,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the works of art installed all around the town, on the sculpture trail in a wide variety of styles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>And just outside town, don't miss the 4.30m-high Pierre Blanche menhir. And legend has it that the stone turns on itself once a year at midnight?
