If I had to describe this experience in one word, it would be <strong>cocooning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>This beautiful house located less than 10 minutes from <strong>Amboise<\/strong> is a haven of peace, decorated with taste and simplicity. Less than 10 minutes away by car, this small Louis XIII style castle offers you a beautiful enchanted interlude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Chateau-Hotel-Perreux\/i-8kfvcWv\/0\/09ab1da6\/L\/chateau-hotel-perreux-chambre-10-L.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A troglodytic first floor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The house has something to surprise you (pleasantly), between its troglodytic first floor (dug in the rock), its magnificent wooden frame (if you have like us the chance to sleep under the roof), its beehives in the park which provide the breakfast table...  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Chateau-Hotel-Perreux\/i-dkD9rWW\/0\/98180206\/L\/chateau-perreux-chambre-L.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Room in the attic<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>The rooms are spacious and ultra-comfortable, a real invitation to relax with a good book ... And we love it!<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Chateau-Hotel-Perreux\/i-nSzxZzR\/0\/481baf49\/L\/chateau-perreux-L.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Breakfast by the fire<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>After breakfast served by the fire, put on a pair of boots (provided by the hotel), to discover the park of the castle of 5 hectares irrigated by the Ciss, but also the forest, with its surprising Boll\u00e9e windmill (named after its inventor Ernest-Sylvain Boll\u00e9e). Our review<\/h2>\n\n<p>We loved our stay at the castle and honestly wish we could have stayed longer... We were so comfortable under the roof, protected from the biting cold, admiring the peaceful countryside, enjoying the charm of the building, all magnified by a discreet but refined decoration...  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Chateau-Hotel-Perreux\/i-SfncmmF\/0\/fc254ebb\/L\/chateau-hotel-perreux-chambre-8-L.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Comfort and hospitality (with the good honey of the castle)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>And Olivier, the owner, and his staff, were <strong>very helpful<\/strong> to us. A long discussion on the comparative advantages of the Nordic bath and the swimming pool, advice on hotels and restaurants in the Loire... You can feel the passion for (good) hospitality of the man who traded his career in medical equipment for that of a hotelier!  <\/p>\n\n<p>Sleeping in a ch\u00e2teau in the Loire Valley is a must! The interest of the place is really based on its setting, its troglodytic first floor, its beautiful wooden frame and its fireplaces, it is advisable to leave them the star!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Chateau-Hotel-Perreux\/i-3PDzbvJ\/0\/af2eae67\/L\/chateau-hotel-perreux-lobby-L.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The lobby of the hotel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this does not prevent the rooms and the lobby from having some beautiful pieces, with a special mention for the various lighting fixtures that we really appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Chateau-Hotel-Perreux\/i-D7MVG2C\/0\/fca01b2d\/L\/chateau-hotel-perreux-chambre-2-L.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The minimalist and inspiring bathroom<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the room, the most beautiful piece was without context the open bathtub that offers you an extraordinary experience in this cozy setting. We loved it!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History<\/h3>\n\n<p>The castle was built in 1701, but totally redesigned in the <sup>19th<\/sup> century by <strong>Fran\u00e7ois Valentin Thomas<\/strong>. A price that is consistent with the quality of the accommodation and the great experience you will have.
