In the immediate vicinity of the city center, but just behind the Graslin and Talensac districts, it reconciles hyperproximity and calm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Built and used for 150 years as a courthouse, transforming this building into a luxury hotel was a real (successful) gamble. We'll talk about it in detail right after.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" Our review<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What really makes the charm of the Radisson Blu Nantes is that it occupies the premises of the<strong>former courthouse in Nantes<\/strong>. This 7000<sup>m2<\/sup> building was built for this purpose in 1852, a century when architecture had to be grandiose and when the neoclassical style was still dominant. In the year 2000, the premises were no longer adapted to the functioning of the French justice system, and the courthouse moved to a new building constructed by the star architect Jean Nouvel on the island of Nantes.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Hotel-Radisson-Blu-Nantes\/i-4MqcQLz\/0\/231987d2\/L\/nantes-hotel-radisson-1-L.jpg\" alt=\"The Lost and Found room of the Blu Radisson Nantes\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The lobby of the hotel in the old \"salle des pas perdus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After several months of construction, the Radisson Blu Nantes opened in 2012. The interior architect and designer <strong>Jean Philippe Nuel, an<\/strong> international reference in the world of luxury hotels, has once again completed a particularly successful renovation. The elements of the judicial universe have been preserved and integrated with modern hotel constraints.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotels\/Hotel-Radisson-Blu-Nantes\/i-MwFK4qw\/0\/6abc3c74\/L\/nantes-hotel-radisson-blu-6-L.jpg\" alt=\"Preserved entrance doors to the corridors of the old courthouse\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The doors of the old courts of justice<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will have your breakfast in the impressive<strong> court of assizes <\/strong>(jurisdiction in which the most serious crimes are judged). You will check in opposite the entrance to the <strong><sup>1st<\/sup> courtroom<\/strong>. You will enjoy the comfortable sofas in the old <strong>\"salle des pas perdus\" <\/strong>where so many Nantes people have waited feverishly for their judgment to fall... A truly unique experience!<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\"
