We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why sleep at Ch\u00e2teau des Forges (Slow Village)<\/h2>\n\n<p>After spending a pleasant night there, the castle of Forges has certainly something more for us:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Just a few minutes from the city of Angers, you take a small path that takes you out of the urban \"madness\", to immerse yourself in a  <strong>ocean of nature and calm<\/strong>with<strong>  a park of 6 hectares<\/strong>  overlooking the valley of Saint-Aubin and the lower valleys of Anjou, without a building on the horizon!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vallee-loire\/Hotel-chateau-forges-angers\/i-nkbZKjs\/0\/881056ea\/L\/chateau-hotel-forges-angers-5-L.jpg\" alt=\"View from the room, on the pool and the valley of Saint Aubin\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">View from the room, on the pool and the valley of Saint Aubin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Between <strong>a large bourgeois family home and a small ch\u00e2teau<\/strong>, you can feel the passion of the antique dealer who has ensured the impeccable restoration of this home built in the <sup>19th<\/sup> century by an Anjou industrialist, Germain Bouyonnet-belize. Our review<\/h2>\n\n<p>The ch\u00e2teau des Forges, at the gates of Angers, aims to offer a contemporary vision of ch\u00e2teau life, even a trendy one, far from the world and the basic comfort of the Renaissance. Its many other assets make it, for us, an <strong>essential hotel on the outskirts of Angers<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loirelovers.fr\/en\/where-stay-angers-best-hotels-neighborhoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see all our favorites<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p>Eager to respond to the challenges of our society, the Ch\u00e2teau des Forges gives pride of place to <strong>nature<\/strong> (the lower Anjou valleys are a Natura 2000 area). It is certified <strong>European Ecolabel<\/strong> (NF 543), a standard that commits it to respecting a charter of 67 criteria on major environmental issues (reduction of energy consumption, waste, water....).  <\/p>\n\n<p>He is also committed to a more peaceful tourism, the <strong>slow tourism<\/strong>. This idea of slowing down, does not mean to turn to the past, but to take the time to appreciate the landscape, the decoration, a drink around the pool, a \"home-made\" breakfast... Life in short! And for that alone, it's <strong>a great hotel<\/strong>!  <\/p>\n\n<p>Sleeping in a ch\u00e2teau in the Loire Valley is a bit of a must. atmosphere<\/h3>\n\n<p>No false note in the <strong>decoration,<\/strong> from the lobby, to the common rooms and of course to the rooms!<\/p>\n\n<p>You'll be bathed in an <strong>atmosphere <\/strong>of harmonious <strong>green colors <\/strong>that lets nature outside take center stage, but is by no means insipid.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img <strong>Bauhaus-inspired<\/strong> accessories gives the hotel a really nice atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" painfully from the lower Anjou valleys, we discovered a very <strong>appetizing <\/strong>breakfast <strong>buffet <\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img from <strong>local producers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" if the \"homemade French toast\" defended itself very well.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\"
